All students at Learning Express Academy enjoy participating in a variety of Special Activities throughout the school week. These activities include:

• Computers– Our Computer Lab, also known as the “Technology Train,” is equipped with brand new computer equipment, including desktops, a laptop, printer and high-speed Internet connections. The layout of the lab is organized to encourage cooperative learning, while at the same time allowing students the opportunity to work individually using computer headsets. The objective of the Technology curriculum is not only to teach students about computer components and software, but also to complement concepts learned in their daily subjects, such as Spelling, Reading and Mathematics.
• Library – Each class enjoys periodic visits to the school’s Library where they meet with the Librarian for story time in the sunroom reading area. Shelves are stocked with educational and recreational reading materials for all levels, and each child has the opportunity to check–out a book at every visit to take home and read.
• Physical Education – Using our spacious indoor gymnasium, students participate in weekly Physical Education classes, where they are taught the importance of exercise and healthy lifestyles.
• Spanish – To broaden multicultural awareness, students are taught Spanish-speaking skills as well as traditions in the Latin American culture. In Kindergarten, children learn concepts such as numbers, colors and greetings, and by 2nd grade, begin forming basic sentences.
• Art & Music – Creativity and imagination are important characteristics in the life of a child, and students enjoy the freedom to display these traits during music and art classes. Age appropriate materials are used to complement class instruction.
